Mafill® PP & Ensoft® TPE in Decathlon’s
latest table tennis paddles
Decathlon is the world’s largest sporting goods retailer, with stores all over the world. They are well-known for supplying high-quality products at affordable prices, as well as for their innovative products. They have their own brands and are extensively involved in the design and manufacture of their products, which is unusual for a sports retailer. Their ambition is to constantly innovate and improve their products
and make sports more accessible to all.
IDEAL CHOICES
With their focus on sustainability, Decathlon wanted to include as much recycled plastic in their table tennis paddles as possible, making Mafill® the ideal choice. They were also looking for very specific
elastomeric properties for the part that makes contact with the ball, which Ensoft® TPE could deliver. This project is a great example of the success that can be achieved when business units and countries work together across Ravago. We were able to support a multinational customer with high-quality, consistent materials in multiple regions. For the European market, the Mafill® is produced in Ravago Italia’s Mornico plant and the Ensoft® is produced in RPU’s Aliağa plant in Türkiye. For the Asian market, the Ensoft®
is supplied from the Ravago Manufacturing Kunshan plant in China.
Decathlon and Ravago have built a very specific partnership over the last few years which
has led to, and is supported by,various success stories. From the design phase with Decathlon and with their molders, Ravago colleagues have provided unique support and service to secure new products
with improved sustainability profiles using recycled solutions from Ravago. Look out for the
paddles in Decathlon stores from summer 2024!
